Here is a peek at something new I am working on...a vampire story of sorts but it's all about the passion and desire...
He is drawn from the street to a woman reading in a darkened bookstore...these are his first thoughts as he watches her...
I
was mesmerized by the small vision of flesh, transfixed by the pale softness of
it, riveted by the need to feel it beneath my fingers. A glimmer of gray satin
was visible against the swell of her breast beneath the blush of black cashmere
and my heart hammered with desire to suckle the darker skin between my teeth.
The skin upon her chest, neck and face had been made darker by the sun as was
the flesh upon her delicate hands and long, slender fingers.
Her
long legs were tucked up neatly beneath her like a child and could I not see
her face clearly, I might have mistaken her for a very young girl.
I
lurked in the shadows of the bookshelves, watching her, breathing her in,
tasting the scent of her on my tongue.
I
felt the uncomfortable hardness of lust press firmly against my jeans and yet I
could not draw my gaze from her. I felt as if I were drowning, unable to speak,
my throat closed and raw. I felt lust, yes. But I also felt something that I
hadn’t
felt in nearly a century of being…I felt hunger.
